Manchester city striker Nolito has revealed he nearly signed for Barcelona during the summer transfer window.
Nolito who joined City from Celta Vigo for a £13.8 million fee following an impressive season in in the Spanish La Liga scoring double figures. There were speculations that the 29-year-old might move to Camp Nou but he eventually ended at the Etihad.
Nolito told Mundo Deportivo: ‘I was close to Barcelona,’
‘But in the end I decided to go to Manchester City.
‘I think it was the best decision for me and my family and I am happy to play for City.’
‘It’s a privilege for me to work with him (Guardiola) and I try to learn every day and take advantage of the opportunities he is giving me.’
Although, Nolito will hope to continue in typical fashion under Pep Guardiola but it appears to be second choice to Sergio Aguero who has started the season in fine form.
